(Milan, November 30, 2017) – A new feature from Human Rights Watch exposes the cruel reality for migrants determined to escape persecution, violence, and hardship at home and horrendous abuse in Libya. It also highlights concerns that the European Union is edging dangerously close to complicity in Libyan abuses and suggests policy changes to save lives at sea and help people avoid the most dangerous journeys.
Judith Sunderland, associate Europe director, reports from the Aquarius rescue ship run by SOS MEDITERRANEE. This multimedia feature may be published with appropriate credits.
